Neck/Cervical Thoracic Pain
Gentle manual therapy, stretching, isometric strengthening and postural remediation are used to manage pain and improve function. Selective use of thermal and electrical modalities, as well as cervical traction may be utilized. Postural remediation and movement reeducation will be covered in order to assist with maintaining a pain-free lifestyle following discharge from therapy.
Scapular Thoracic Pain and Strain
Scapular and nerve mobilization, stretching, strengthening, and electrical modalities are utilized to reduce inflamation and pain. Movement reeducation plays a large role in assisting with prevention of future strains. Ergonomic recommendations for the workplace and activity analysis for leisure activities will also play a role in interventions.

Shoulder

Manual therapy to mobilize shoulder, neck, spine and trunk is essential in managing conditions of the shoulder for both surgical and non-surgical conditions. Postural remediation, capsular stretching, strengthening and movement reeducation, as well as electrical modalities are utilized to manage pain and maximize function. Special attention is paid to patient roles in occupations, sport and leisure, as well as activities of daily living.

Elbow

Soft tissue and joint mobilization, stretching, strengthening and effective modalities are used to resolve conditions such as tennis elbow/lateral epicondylitis, golfer’s elbow/medial epicondylitis and biceps tendinitis. Treatment is chosen according to assessment of the individual patient as opposed to being protocol driven.

Restoration of range of motion after elbow fractures is managed by application of appropriate static, static progressive and dynamic splints, manual therapy and multiple stretching programs.

Wrist and Hand

Fractures, sprains and strains, and tendon disruption of the wrist and hand are treated following effective protocols to ensure optimal outcome. Manual therapy is utilized to control swelling, mobilize joints and manage scar formation. Fabrication and application of prefabricated and custom splinting may also be utilized, as well as state of the art electrical modalities.
